Alex Porter, a Graduate Rural Surveyor at leading property consultancy Bidwells, has been shortlisted for the RICS Matrics Young Surveyor of the Year Awards in the Rural category.
The award recognises and celebrates the most inspirational young surveying professionals in the UK.

He works from the St Albans office and currently undertakes a range of estate management, valuation, tenancy matters and agency work for private, institutional and charitable clients, mostly focused within Bedfordshire, Hertfordshire and Buckinghamshire.
Commenting on Alex being shortlisted, Lucie Stone, Head of Office St Albans said “Alex’s excellent combination of professional, business and people skills makes him a very important member of our team and his clients have really come to respect his contribution.
“Having got this far is a huge achievement for Alex who is so early on in his career, we hope the Final judges will recognise the standard Alex achieves in his work and his potential for the future.”
Winners in each category and the overall Young Surveyor of the Year will be announced at a dinner in central London on 14 November.
