From 2nd January Oliver Bayston will join the company from his position as Sales Manager (south west) with BOCM Pauls and will work alongside Sales Director Martin Humphrey and Paul Poornan, Feed Mill Chief Executive, to strengthen the Humphrey Feeds senior management team.

“We are delighted to welcome Oliver to the team,” says Martin Humphrey. “The addition of someone of Oliver’s capabilities will offer extra capacity now and continuity in the future, allowing us to plan for the business’ development whilst at the same time further fulfilling the needs of existing customers. In making this appointment, we did not think we would find anyone to ‘tick all the boxes’ – Oliver, however, has the broadest range of appropriate skills for the task.”

Oliver is from a farming family in the Cotswolds, and graduated from Seale Hayne agricultural college to join the feed industry as a trainee Account Manager and has worked in numerous customer focused roles including transport and marketing so has a broad knowledge of the feed industry.

Now, in his role as Commercial Director Oliver will be bringing this experience to bear on different aspects of the Humphrey’s business, including marketing and transport.

“I am delighted to be joining Humphrey Feeds,” says Mr Bayston, “They have an excellent reputation for first rate customer service and are market leaders in their sector with a genuine passion for adding value to their customers businesses. My priority will be to establish myself within the business and, going forward, build on what Humphrey Feeds has already achieved. I really relish the opportunity of this broader challenge, the chance to become involved at a senior management level in the wider aspects of running a specialist feed business rather than focusing solely on sales.”

One of Oliver’s first priorities will be transport. “Transport costs exceed our feed production costs,” said Mr Humphrey. “We need to apply ourselves as to how to run our fleet so that we can be as competitive, and efficient, as possible for our customers, both on the feed and the pullets side of the business. This is just one area in which Oliver has a great deal of experience and will be making a contribution to the future of Humphrey Feeds and further improving our offer to UK poultry farmers.”
