Red Tractor Assurance (RTA) joined thousands of hungry festival goers last week as The Big Feastival opened its gates.

Hosted by Alex James and Jamie Oliver on Alex’s Cotswold farm and attended by around 50,000 food-loving guests, the unique weekend saw a great selection of food and drink experts ready to celebrate the nation’s love of quality food. Red Tractor joined the weekend celebrations and were on hand to drive awareness and understanding of the Red Tractor logo amongst adults and children.

A host of competitions, engaging activities and exciting give-aways were available on the Red Tractor stand each day, all designed to encourage visitors to think about where their food comes from and to recognise that the Red Tractor logo represents food which is traceable, safe to eat and has been produced responsibly.

A striking full-sized commercial tractor was just one of the attractions at the Red Tractor stand. The red Massey Ferguson, which stood impressively next to the Red Tractor marquee, was available for children to have their photo taken with.

Hundreds of visitors got involved with the Red Tractor butter churning competition; children and adults tried their hardest to shake their cream into butter – the fastest scooping a year’s supply of cheese! As well as a ‘guess the number of potatoes’ competition, in which entrants could win a BBQ, a photo booth was on hand to capture a special Red Tractor festival memento for visitors.

Industry Communications Manager for Red Tractor Assurance, Jessica Sloss, said: “We had a constant stream of enthusiastic visitors to our stand, providing us with a great opportunity to promote important Red Tractor credentials to both children and adults. Our information zone, which explained the Red Tractor food standards using visually appealing infographics, was a great success and provided visitors with concise, easy to digest information.

“More and more consumers want to know that the food they are buying is safe, which is why it was important for us to engage with visitors and inform them on where they can find the Red Tractor logo.”
