The Wayland Show’s annual dinner dance held at Lynford Hall with over 200 guests in attendance saw a lively fund-raising auction in aid of East Anglia’s Children’s Hospices (EACH) and dancing to the Jak Ropa Roadshow.

The evening raised a total of £11,800 for the chosen charity, for which many thanks to everyone who contributed so generously and to Barclays for their match funding contribution.

Natalie Moulton from Barclays said: “We were pleased to be able to support this event and to raise through Barclays community fund matching scheme, over £3,000 for the East Anglia Childrens’ Hospice. The ball was a great success and people really entered into the spirit of the occasion.”

Graham Shingfield, chairman of the Wayland Agricultural Show says: “Year on year this popular family show gets better and better. Everyone involved gives up their time voluntarily to make it happen, and this includes raising money for a specific charity by hosting the Wayland Show Ball and holding an auction. In addition all the profits from the Wayland Show are given to a variety of local charities and good causes within the Wayland area.”

Laura Shearing, EACH Norfolk Fundraiser said “We are absolutely thrilled to be the beneficiary of the phenomenal funds raised at the Wayland Show’s dinner dance. We can’t thank them enough for their support. There is often a misconception that we need to raise large sums of money for expensive equipment, when it is staff and one to one specialist care that is imperative. Thank you to all involved with the dance, your fundraising efforts will enable us to continue providing care and support to local life threatened children and their families.

The Wayland Agricultural Show, one of the longest traditional shows of its kind will be held on Sunday 4th August 2013 and advance tickets can be bought online now at http://www.waylandshow.com/tickets.
