All systems go for Newark Tractor Show
It’s all systems go for the 2012 Newark Vintage Tractor & Heritage Show, which will be held on Saturday 10th and Sunday 11th November.
Entries are coming in thick and fast, already up on this time last year. Many of them are eligible to be exhibited in the Feature Tractor marquee of Perkins Derivatives. Included among them are a 1949 Bedford Tipper Lorry, a 1952 Nuffield DM4, two Leyland Roadtrains and a 1942 Fordson Standard N.
Advance tickets are available online now – discounted by up to £2.00 on the gate – with admission held at 2011 prices; visitors can also book tickets for the Saturday evening and Sunday lunchtime Carvery, another saving of £2.00 on the day.
For the first time it will be possible to order and pay for catalogues online, providing a preview of what to see and where on the showground before arriving.
An added attraction this year will be the Dancing Does, performing in the Main Arena. This means that the Brown & Co Vintage Auction (Saturday) and Sort-Out (Sunday) will revert to the Newark Ring. Lots for the Auction should be directed to Judy Strawson on 01652 654833, email: judy.strawson@brown-co.com or visit: www.brown-co.com to download an Entry Pack. Anyone wishing to have a pitch at the Sort-Out should contact Mary Hopkins on 01636 705796 or email: mary@newarkshowground.com.
With Christmas just six weeks after the Show, a Festive Theme will pervade as the Stuart Goodwin Pavilion and an adjoining marquee are transformed into a ‘Get Ahead for Christmas’ experience; celebrity chefs Teresa Bovey and Linda Hewett will be giving tips and advice on festive food while craft stands will be bursting with Christmas gift ideas.
The show’s organisers are offering a special Weekend Camping package which includes on-site camping with two adult tickets for both days of the show at just £45.00 when prepaid (children under 17 are admitted free when accompanied by an adult).
The venue is readily accessed from the A1, A46 and A17 near Newark-on-Trent; gates open at 9.00am on both days, closing at 5.00pm on Saturday and 3.30pm on Sunday.
