BBC Good Food Show Winter opened today and will run through to 27th Nov at NEC Birmingham
Two of the nation’s favourite chefs James Martin and Brian Turner today opened the doors of the BBC Good Food Show Winter’s 21st Show to great acclaim from visitors and exhibitors. The opening day has been a huge success, entertaining the public and providing festive inspiration and recipes. Europe’s biggest food show featured 63 culinary stars across 8 different stages, alongside over 400 exhibitors displaying many goods which cannot be found on the high street.
Highlights of today’s show included:
The World Cheese Champion 2011 was announced after a rigorous days judging by a team of experts including Alex James.
Top chefs including Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall and Valentine Warner attended the BBC Radio 4 Food and Farming awards held in the Supertheatre.
The Women’s Institute launched their brand new range of foods to the acclaim of press and visitors.

Be inspired by top chefs live demos – Some of TV’s favourite culinary stars will be cooking live on stage at the Supertheatre sponsored by Sainsbury’s. Star names including James Martin, demonstrating an alternative Christmas Dinner, Rick Stein, John Torode and Gregg Wallace, who will be creating his classic Christmas Pudding.
Christmas Theatre Get some great ideas for Christmas treats by taking a tasting session on this stage alternatively pick up some fantastic tips for making your own treats including Christmas cookie icing, marzipan fruit making and Christmas Cake Decorations.
British Theatre Enjoy the best British chefs demonstrating with the best of British produce and pick up tips on how to make your Christmas truly local.
Shopping With over 400 exhibitors it’s the perfect place to pick up gifts for your friends and family. With some fantastic producers’ including Kelly’s Turkeys, English Provender and Scotland Food and Drink, find something original for Christmas Day.
Marks and Spencer Christmas Experience Marks and Spencer will be returning once again with an even bigger Christmas theatre featuring top chefs including Michael Caines giving you tips and advice on how to make the most of your culinary skills this Christmas.
