Wonderful Wildlife Festival at CAT

Wildlife and conservation experts from across the UK will gather on the weekend 23rd- 24th July to take part in a Wildlife Festival at the Centre for Alternative Technology. The vibrant and informative weekend is being held in order to educate and inform people about wildlife. Speakers and presentations include Gareth Morgan the ‘Mid Wales Badger man’ who spent 25 years visiting a badger’s sett and has been accepted as part of their group.

“This weekend is a celebration of wildlife in Wales and the Importance of wildlife in relation to human welfare. Through talks, presentations and activities visitors to CAT will be able to learn about local wildlife and important aspects of conservation.” Grace Crabb, Biologist at Centre for Alternative Technology

Other activities and presentations include exploring CATs ponds, fungi identification and cultivation, the importance of tree’s for wildlife, Welsh marine life, bee keeping, bringing back the beaver and many more. All the talks, workshops and activities are designed for all the family??Forest School Wales will be facilitating some engaging and fun activities for young people throughout the festival from 10.30am to 5pm. A great opportunity for children to learn about sustainability through fun, creativity and experimentation, using sustainable and recycled materials.

Live music will be provided by Finikity Chaos, a five-piece Klezmer/Breton/Eastern-European group.
