BBC Gardeners’ World Live and BBC Good Food Show Summer opened today
BBC Gardeners’ World Live and The BBC Good Food Show Summer opened its doors today for five days of inspirational, award winning gardens, celebrity chef demonstrations, gardening experts and hundreds of exhibitors. With over 50 celebrities and experts performing across five different stages, the Show is already proving to be a huge success to its high volume of visitors at the NEC today.

Some of the Show’s most popular features are back again this year, including the Gardeners’ World Magazine Theatre, Ask the Experts Stage and the Countryfile Magazine Stage sponsored by Renault. The nation’s favourite gardening experts from the BBC Two series Gardeners’ World and BBC One series Countryfile are sharing their passions for plants, gardening and the countryside. Gloria Hunniford and Linda Barker were on hand to discuss the inspiration behind Flora pro.activ’s Heart Healthy Garden and top wildlife filmmaker Simon King made his first appearance of the week.

With over 25 RHS gardens and features, more than 100 nurseries and top experts there is an abundance of inspiration, whether you are a beginner, enthusiast or expert gardener. Top chefs, including Rachel Allen and James Martin, are creating their favourite summer dishes using seasonal ingredients live on stage in The Summer Kitchen sponsored by Sainsbury’s. The recipes are all easy to follow and favourites are printed in the Recipe Collection (value 10.00, included in the ticket price) for visitors to try at home.
Seasonal food and drink…
Hundreds of exhibitors will be selling summer food and drink from regional producers, which you won’t find on the high street. Visitors have been stocking up on homemade goodies ideal for alfresco entertaining as well as regional cheeses, pickles and wines.
Top TV chefs cooking live…
After its popularity at the BBC Good Food Show Winter, Saturday Kitchen Live, hosted by TV’s James Martin, made its debut at the Show today. With celebrity guests, Food Heaven and Hell and the fiercely competitive Omelette Challenge, it is proving more popular than ever. After a hugely successful debut at the 2010 Show, the MasterChef Experience sponsored by Plenty has returned to the 2011 Show. Fans of the programme are sure to love the live version. With John Torode and Gregg Wallace live, and loud, on the MasterChef Experience’s very own stage. They are joined by a whole host of fellow judges, past winners and many other familiar MasterChef faces including the latest champion Tim Anderson.
