Laura Biggs Managing Director of BBC Haymarket Exhibitions says We are delighted to be able to give back to the industry and the community in this way. We are always looking for the next big thing in food and this is such a fantastic vehicle for us to help those businesses that we feel really deserve to be seen by the public
The four award winners at the BBC Good Food Show Summer will be:
Jennys Jams Ltd – Lincoln
It started with a pick-your-own trip that resulted in too much fruit, so Jenny started making jams for family and friends and then it all took off from there. Everything is made by Jenny in Lincolnshire by hand in small batches, using no artificial preservatives or additives. Her jams, marmalades and chutneys are all made using traditional recipes and methods.
Asiri Foods – Worcestershire
Asiri makes all her products by hand in Malvern, where they source as many ingredients as possible from local farmers and other industries. Her chutneys are produced without any artificial additives, flavourings or colourings. Sri Lankan traditional recipes and methods are used to create unique flavours such as spicy beetroot and orange chutney, rhubarb and date chutney and spicy pineapple and walnut chutney.
The Nutty Tarts – Cambridgeshire
They are passionate producers, making the best quality cakes and biscuits they can from local produce. They continue to bake in small batches to ensure the quality and taste lives up to their standards. They started by meeting at the school gates where the idea of starting a home baking business began and are now winning national awards for their products.
The Mortimer Chocolate Company Ltd – Berkshire
A family business dedicated to producing outstanding, award winning, innovative and delicious chocolate powders from chocolate made in the UK. A unique and versatile product enabling consumers to taste the true flavours of cocoa from different countries of origin.
