New generation JCB Fastracs offer fuel saving of up to 10%
JCB today unveiled its new generation fuel-saving Fastrac 8000 Series tractors including a brand new model offering greater power and torque for increased productivity.
The preview of the JCB Fastrac 8280 and the new flagship of the range, the JCB Fastrac 8310, takes place in the UK today at the Cereals 2011 show.
The 8280 is a 279hp (208kW) machine offering with 1195 Nm of torque and is offered as a direct replacement for the incredibly successful 8250.The brand new Fastrac 8310 is a 306hp (228kW) machine and comes with 1310 Nm of torque and has been introduced to satisfy the demands of the progressive user, who is constantly looking for increased power and torque in order to enhance productivity.
New features include:
- Sisu Stage IIIB/Tier 4i, 8.4 litre engines delivering more power and torque with up to 10% fuel savings
- Quieter operator environment with a 5dBA reduction in in-cab noise levels to 68.7 dBA
- GPS auto steer preparation to minimise overlap – increasing efficiency by up to 10%
- Launch of the Activ Traction system to detect wheel slip and adapt engine revs to the situation
- Road cruise control – reduces operator effort, at speeds between 20kph and 70kph
- New pivoting front fender design minimises spray and debris on the bodywork
- Load sensing auxiliary hydraulic services are now standard with flow and time in both directions
- Rear camera option maximises rear visibility and towing hitch visibility
- Solar glass, high output air conditioning and new heater for all-climate comfort
- 15% more torque for ultimate traction
JCB Agriculture Managing Director Richard Fox-Marrs said: Increased productivity does not have to equal increased operational cost. These two new heavy draft, high speed tractors boast incredibly efficient Sisu Stage IIIB/Tier 4i, 8.4 litre engines.
Sisu engines are ideal for the full load duty cycles which the Fastrac 8000 Series endures, allowing the machines to operate to their full potential while delivering fuel savings of up to 10%. Coupled with the new patented GPS Ready option available on these machines and customers can increase efficiency further, eliminating any overlap and therefore reducing the waste of fuel, time, seed, fertiliser and spray.
One of the key benefits of the JCB Fastrac 8000 Series has always been that it is a genuine year round performer and these two new models are no exception.
Both new models retain the unique Fastrac benefits of full suspension, a chassis designed for strength and load carrying ability, ultimate braking and safety, high road speeds of up to 70kph, equal weight distribution and industry-leading levels of cab comfort.
The Fastrac 8280 and 8310 also see significant enhancements to the CVT transmission and operational software to ensure operators can maximise the output of the machine. Fundamental improvements to the functionality of the tractors have also been made, to make sure the customers asset is protected even in the most arduous of environments and to allow service intervals and daily checks to be kept to a minimum, ensuring the tractors spend as much of their life at work as possible. .
In addition to brand new features the tractors offer a host of improvements including:
-
Genuine one touch headland management system with additional functionality including distance-based delay, GPS activation, engine speed and travel speed
-
Enhanced paint and anti-corrosion standards improve quality and durability
-
New design of panniers and cooling pack improving serviceability and access for daily checks
-
Additional wheel equipment options to cater for the increase in power
-
Retention of the mechanical link steering system, in conjunction with the new patented GPS autosteer system ensures the right solution for road and field
-
CVT Drive mode enhancements to ensure uptake of drive is seamless whatever the task
-
Revised suspension geometry to ensure a more responsive feel and greater control at speed
-
Enhanced in-field cruise controls reduce operator input and maximise flexibility
-
New touch screen quick link keys ensure the operator can adapt machine parameters in an instant
-
Larger alternator allows all work lights to be used simultaneously
