Pangaea Agrochemicals has signed a Heads of Terms agreement with Nufarm Ltd opening the way to license agreements for its novel anti-resistance technology. The technology uses novel formulations to reactivate the pests’ susceptibility to conventional active ingredients. Based on technology developed and patented by Rothamsted Research and the Department of Primary Industries, New South Wales, Pangaea has demonstrated effectiveness against a variety of insects and weed species including resistant strains of pollen beetle and blackgrass.

Pangaea has been fortunate in gaining support from both the Eastern Area Agritech Growth Initiative and the UK’s Innovation agency, Innovate UK. Nick Gooch (Pangaea Executive Chairman) comments that “Without this valuable funding the development programme would be several years behind where it is now. We are very pleased to be able to work with Nufarm to bring innovative British technology to the global market”.

Nufarm’s General Manager for Innovation & Development, Mike Pointon, was pleased to jointly announce the agreement saying “We have been observing the development of this technology for several years and are delighted that Pangaea has chosen to partner with us for the final stages of commercialisation. This technology adds a significant tool to Nufarm’s portfolio of products designed to overcome pesticide resistance which is an increasingly significant global issue.”
