Virtually on the eve of Farmhouse Breakfast Week (23rd 29th January) this is great news for Denhay, for bacon lovers, for breakfast lovers, and for British farming!   So, bacon fans can go out and buy a pack of Denhay and enjoy a cooked breakfast with crispy, delicious and traditional tasting bacon in a starring roll.

The whole team at Denhay is thrilled with the news everyone works so hard to keep the standard of our bacon as high as when we first started making it.  To be granted the Royal Warrant from HRH The Prince of Wales is a brilliant accolade for us and we hope that this added recognition speaks volumes for the quality and taste of our bacon, said George Streatfeild, Director of Denhay Farms.

On the farm overlooking Dorset’s Jurassic coast, Denhay started making traditional farmhouse Cheddar in 1959 and added its award-winning hand-cured bacon in 1994.  The bacon curing moved to a purpose built curing and slicing facility in Honiton in 2005.   Denhay believes that the key to its success is its dedicated and skilled team together with traditional recipes and methods.

Denhay has won a record number of awards for its bacon, which is made from British high welfare pork and hand rubbed in sea salt.  Denhays dry cured bacon is all about taste it is given time to cure and mature; smoked beech wood logs are used to create a subtle and distinctive flavour. An old-fashioned Wiltshire cure bacon is also made to a traditional recipe by Denhay. All of its bacon is available in major food halls, high quality delicatessens and leading supermarkets, notably Waitrose.

*The Royal Warrant was granted for five years starting on 1st January 2011.
