INRA, French national institute for agricultural research is recruiting 53 researchers

As of the 20th January, INRA is launching its annual recruitment campaign for researchers. As the leading agricultural research institution in Europe, and second largest in the world, INRA aims for excellence to face the major challenges of today in environmental, economic and social terms.

The first French research organisation to earn the HR excellence in research label from The European Community for the quality of its human resources strategy, this year INRA is offering 53 Research Scientist posts, within different scientific areas : biochemistry, biology, genetics, ecology, genomics, mathematics, physiology, microbiology, economics, forestry sciences, environmental sciences, sociology, animal sciences, computing, chemistry, neurosciences, entomology ,statistics ,virology

INRA produces fundamental knowledge, and via this knowledge creates innovation and know-how for society. Over and above research aiming for excellence undertaken in a wide range of disciplines, the Institute has committed from now on to progressively implementing meta-programmes, projects and actions that are coordinated together as a whole, uniting multi-disciplinary teams around the major objective of feeding the world in 2050. INRA has also just finalised its strategy document, Targeted Research, which fixes its route map for the next ten coming years, aiming to attain this objective, setting up 4 major areas to be worked on, and prioritising the creation of two new disciplines.

The recruitment process consists of a competition based on written applications, and then an oral presentation by selected candidates.
Submission deadline for the application package is 24th February 2011.
