Shortly before 6pm last night (02-06-2015), emergency services were called to the McHale machinery plant on the outskirts of Ballinrobe, Ireland, to tackle a blaze thought to have started in the paint shop area of the factory.
Multiple explosions were heard as the fire took hold, spreading quickly due to the strong winds. It is understood that the blaze was contained and was prevented from spreading to other premises nearby.
There are no reports of any casualties and management have said that the clean-up effort will begin in earnest once the extent of the damage has been assessed.
