Organisers of The Royal County of Berkshire Show (18-19th September 2010) have confirmed the talented line-up of local, award winning Chefs who will be headlining the Cookery Theatre.
Demonstrating their skills in cooking Good British Food are: Mike Robinson, Owner and Head Chef of The Pot Kiln in Frilsham; Graham White, Head Chef of The Plough in Eastbury; Gareth Kershaw, Sous Chef of The Coach in Beedon and Justin Brown, Head Chef of the newly launched Sun Inn in Dummer.
TV Chef Mike Robinson, who you may recognise from his appearances on Good Food Live, Saturday Kitchen and Tales from the Country will be showcasing some age-old traditions including how to prepare Game and Birds for cooking and the art of smoking, curing and preserving.
Graham White, recent winner of West Berkshires Chefs Challenge will be teaching us all how to make the most of our leftovers when he cooks the winning recipe of West Berkshire Councils Love Food, Hate Waste campaign. West Berkshire residents have been submitting their best left-over food recipes and Graham will pick the recipe he likes best to cook live at the Show. West Berkshire Council will also be there handing out there free Love Food Hate Waste food portion tools to help you get on the right track to reducing your familys food waste and cutting your shopping bill.
The Cookery Zone is open both Saturday and Sunday with the Chefs taking to the stage at various times. Pick up your Show Guide at the Show for the confirmed timetable.
In other areas, Newbury & District Agricultural Society is pleased to confirm that the craft and food fayre tents are now both full with over 150 exhibitors alone. Newbury Flower Arranging Society will be doing a demonstration in the horticultural area and entries are still being taken for the Hanging Basket and Trough Competition.
