Wynnstay Chairman Gareth Owen dies

The Board of Wynnstay has announced the death of its Chairman, Mr Gareth Owen who passed away on the evening of Saturday 24th August.

Gareth, a farmer from Llanbrynmair joined the Board in 1985, having spent many years on the advisory committee of the business, he was appointed Vice-chairman in 2011 and latterly Chairman in 2012.

Ken Greetham, Chief Executive comments;

“We pay tribute to Gareth’s contribution to Wynnstay as a committed director and great ambassador for the business. Gareth’s intricate knowledge of the business and vast experience in the agricultural industry was an asset to the Group. He was a key individual in the progression of the business since joining the Board in 1985 and he was extremely proud to take on the role as Chairman of the Group in April 2012.

Gareth, a much respected colleague and friend will be greatly missed and will be remembered as a genuine gentleman who has achieved so much during his time with Wynnstay.

Our sympathy and condolences go to his wife, Beti and son Dylan, at this very difficult time.”

The Board would like to place on record its appreciation of Gareth’s tremendous support and contribution over many years.
