Scotland’s favourite food and drink show arrives in Perth
Tesco’s Enjoy the Taste of Scotland road show is set to hit Perth on Friday 6th and Saturday 7th August 2010. The event, which will be hosted at the Tesco Extra store, Crieff Road, Perth is open to the public and free to attend.
Visitors will be able to take a culinary tour of the region, browsing stalls, meeting producers and sampling food and drink from all over Scotland.
Tesco Chairman, David Reid said: “Enjoy the Taste of Scotland celebrates the very best of Scottish fare from Tesco’s many local food and drink producers. We are committed to getting even closer to local suppliers across Scotland and this series of events are testament to that.”
There will be two main areas at the event:
The Tesco Cookery Theatre – live demonstrations from local producers and well-know chefs including:
Dean’s at Lets Eat, The Apron Stage, Opus One Restaurant, Colin Bussey Consultant Chef and Stephen Mclaughlin Head Chef for Restaurant Andrew Fairlie at Gleneagles
Kids Smoothies with Donna Knight, Tesco Home Economist
The Gordon & MacPhail whisky cocktail finale
The Tesco Fair – a collection of producer marquees and stands, activities and entertainment including:
Angus Soft Fruits, Bell Bakers, Highland Spring, Inveralmond Distillery, Scotherbs, and Wiseman’s.
Children will also be able to enjoy a variety of entertainment, including the craft corner, face painting, the haggis shy, the chance to plant and grow their own herbs and even milk ‘Bella’, the Wiseman’s life size cow.

Sponsored by Quality Meat Scotland, Seafood Scotland and Scotland Food and Drink, the Tesco Enjoy the Taste of Scotland road show series follows on from the success of the annual Enjoy the Taste of Scotland event in Glasgow’s George Square. The first event on the road show calendar took place on 8th May 2010 in Elgin, and will reach Glasgow’s Silverburn Extra Store on 27th and 28th August.
