The aim of this high profile visit was to give key CLA staff and members first-hand knowledge of how a modern estate is gearing up to deal with the disruption to farms and businesses and the effect phase 2 of the HS2 high speed rail link will have on this modern estate.

CLA Midlands regional director Caroline Bedell said: “The fact that every CLA branch in the Midlands was represented on this visit, as well as our President and director general is an indication of how important this issue is to our members.

“The CLA is very much at the forefront of helping and advising those affected by HS2 as well as other aspects of compulsory purchase, and the knowledge gained on this occasion will help fine tune our policy for the benefit of all members”.

“I would like to thank the Earl of Aylesford for his hospitality and willingness to share his experiences with the CLA.”
