Moy Park picks up two Craigavon Business Awards

Moy Park, Northern Ireland’s largest food processing company has won two awards at the 2010 Craigavon Business Awards.

• The Manufacturing Excellence Award

• The Outstanding Contribution to the Local Economy (jointly won with Shankill (Lurgan) Community Projects Ltd)

Organised by Craigavon Borough Councils Development Department, in association with Portadown Chamber of Commerce, the high-profile gala ceremony in Craigavon Civic and Conference Centre marked the vital contribution made by companies throughout the area to the economy of both the Borough and Northern Ireland.

Moy Park, which in 2008 became part of the Brazilian based Marfrig Group, has its European head office and executive board in Craigavon, where two highly invested fresh food manufacturing facilities employ over 1500 people, serving major retail and foodservice customers throughout the UK and Ireland with branded and private label products.  The fresh food business is a fast changing market with the result that at any moment in time over 250 fresh products are being produced.

The awards recognise the commitment that Moy Park continues to make to the local economy, as well as the wider poultry industry.  Moy Park proactively implements market leading initiatives, continually re-investing in future proofing the business and has recently undergone a complete reorganisation of the business. Moy Park is also committed to investing substantially in the development of the skills of its people at all levels.
