Insurer hosts Forum at County Show
Bacon rolls, tea and coffee will be the order of the day for a special Members Forum and breakfast event at this years Devon County Show, being hosted by the only general insurance firm based in the South West.
Cornish Mutual, which has offices at the Matford Centre in Exeter, is organising the session in its marquee at the annual agricultural show, opposite the livestock area at Westpoint, Clyst St Mary on Friday 21 May at 8.30am.
Members from across Devon have been invited to attend during the morning, with the companys Managing Director Alan Goddard addressing attendees and taking questions from the floor.
The event will also offer an opportunity for informal networking and for Cornish Mutual to meet its Members face-to-face and chat about their businesses, the agricultural sector in the South West and issues surrounding the rural community.
Alan Goddard, Cornish Mutuals Managing Director, said: Our breakfast Forum at the Devon County Show is an opportunity for our Members to tell us what they think about their company. As a mutual organisation, we are owned by our Members, rather than shareholders and therefore we value their feedback and involvement in everything we do. Cornish Mutual exists to provide the best possible service.
Cornish Mutual will be exhibiting at the Devon County Show from Thursday 20 to Saturday 22 May and will have a number of local Inspectors on-hand to provide help and advice on a range of agricultural and rural insurance issues.
Cornish Mutual is one of the oldest insurers of its kind in the UK, having been founded by a group of Cornish farmers over 105 years ago. As a mutual organisation, it only works for its Members to make sure that profits are reinvested to ensure a fair claims process and higher levels of service. The firm employs 65 members of staff and provides insurance products for people and businesses across the region.
Founded by a group of Westcountry farmers in 1903, Cornish Mutual is the only general insurer based in the South West. Even today, the company is still owned by its Members, and remains at the heart of rural communities throughout Cornwall, Devon, Somerset and Dorset.
Although staying true to its origins in agriculture (around two thirds of Cornwalls farmers are Members), Cornish Mutual now provides household, commercial, events and personal accident insurance to Members of all descriptions, living or working throughout the South West countryside.
