Milk Link increases member milk prices by 0.5ppl

Milk Link is to increase its Member milk price by 0.5 pence per litre (ppl) from 1st May 2010. This will be paid by way of an increase to the Business Market Related Adjustment payable on all litres produced and will take Milk Links standard litre price to 23.75ppl for those Members on manufacturing contracts and 23.97ppl for those on liquid contracts.

Commenting on the announcement, Neil Kennedy, Milk Link Chief Executive said, A key focus for Milk Link in everything we do is to add value efficiently.  Indeed, our price increase for May reflects our success in maximising operational efficiencies, taking out cost from the business and improving our product & customer mix.

We remain committed to paying a competitive and sustainable milk price to our Members as well as distributing back to them the profits from processing their milk into high quality dairy products.  With firmer prices for dairy commodities now evident, there are encouraging signs that the wider dairy market is also starting to strengthen.  As we are able to secure higher returns from the market, we of course will return these to our Members.
