A new panel for tenant farmers will be launched during the NFUs Tenant Conference 2011.

The panel, made up of expert rural surveyors, is being created by the NFU to deliver advice and guidance for tenant farmers. The approved list is part of on-going work to help tenant farmers deal with specific issues including rent reviews and tenancy succession. It will be unveiled during the conference being held at Harper Adams College on November 10.

NFU rural surveyor Louise Staples is looking for specialists to join the panel. She said: We are really looking for rural surveying firms that specialise in tenancy matters, acting and providing advice to tenant farmers.

The panel firms would specialise in giving advice on agricultural tenancies including rent reviews, tenancy succession, service of notices, schedule of condition and dilapidations, and much more.

The NFU Panel will consist of firms that the NFU can recommend to its members. At first it will be composed of rural surveying firms but will be expanded to other professional bodies in the future.

Work to set up the panel firms has started and we are looking at members of RICS Rural and the Central Association of Agricultural Valuers who would be well suited to this role.
