A roadshow aimed at teaching consumers about the importance of farming has travelled 15,000 miles and spent over 120 days on the road since it was given a makeover.

The new look NFUs Lets Talk Farming roadshow was unveiled at the Royal Cornwall Show in June last year.

Since then, it has travelled up and down the country reaching around one million show goers, food lovers and school children and 2011 looks like being its busiest year ever.

NFU senior campaigns officer Gemma Fitzpatrick said: The roadshows popularity shows no sign of slowing down.

Consumers are increasingly showing more interest in finding out where their food comes from so the roadshows main theme of explaining how food travels from farm to plate is perfect to help promote the best of British.

This year will no doubt be the roadshows busiest ever.

The new design includes a farmland stage with Astroturf floor, landscape backdrop with video footage of farm animals, tractors and crops, straw bale and cow-hide seats.

The roadshow was first launched in 1999. Its new look was unveiled last year and one of its first visitors was His Royal Highness The Prince of Wales.
