University Launches New Faculty At Lincolnshire Show
This year’s Lincolnshire Show will be the fitting venue for the launch of the University of Lincoln’s new faculty of Agriculture, Food and Animal Science, on Wednesday 24 June at 2.30pm.
Invited guests and visitors to the University’s marquee will hear the University’s Vice Chancellor, Professor David Chiddick, officially announce the faculty. The Dean of the faculty, Val Braybrooks, will also be present along with representatives from each of its three departments: Department of Agriculture and Land-based Studies; Department of Food Manufacturing and Process Automation; Department of Biological Sciences.
Val Braybrooks said: “Operating from its Riseholme and Holbeach campuses the new faculty will provide the institutional focus required to build a premier agricultural institution for the future, and clearly there could not be a more fitting occasion to celebrate this important development than at the Lincolnshire Show.”
The launch of the new faculty comes just three months after the University’s new flagship training facility for food companies, the National Centre for Food Manufacturing at Holbeach, was opened by Marks and Spencer chief Sir Stuart Rose.
Visitors to the faculty’s stand at the Lincolnshire Show will also be able to enjoy a celebratory garden, demonstrating sustainable horticultural practice, and sample healthy sausages cooked by staff and students from the Holbeach National Centre for Food Manufacturing.
