Ceres PR and LEAF’s Open Farm Sunday nominated for prestigious award
Food PR specialist Ceres has been shortlisted for a CIPR PRide Award for its work on LEAFs Open Farm Sunday (OFS). The awards recognise excellence and proof of success therefore acknowledging that this campaign is amongst the best in the UK.
Jennifer John, Ceres MD says: There were over 1,000 entries to this years awards and being shortlisted is a tremendous achievement, not only for the team at Ceres but to the OFS team at LEAF (Linking Environment And Farming) too, who together worked tremendously hard to make Open Farm Sunday the huge success it was.
A strong media campaign, on and offline, resulted in over 120,000 people visiting a farm – 73% of them rating their visit as brilliant or amazing; 100,000 visitors to farmsunday.org and 2,500 twitter fans. A video with Countryfiles Adam Henson achieved over 40m opportunities to hear about OFS alone its these key campaign highlights that have secured Ceres a place in the final for the Not for Profit category.
LEAFs Annabel Shackleton, who organises OFS, said: I am really delighted to hear this news. It couldnt have come at a better time as the OFS team are currently travelling the UK consulting with OFS sponsors and farmers about how we can develop the campaign to ensure that we build on the success of 2011 and make 2012 even better!
The final takes place on 25th November at The Belfry, Oxford.
