GTBG: The First True Agrochemical Only Buying Group
On September 1st 2011 GTBG is all set to launch. This bespoke buying group has been structured to provide expertise in the purchasing of Crop Protection inputs.
At the helm of the group will be Andy Jeffrey. With over 30 years experience in the Crop Protection industry: Having worked in distribution, UK and International roles within the manufacturing sector as well as several years as Agrochemical Manager for one of the UKs leading buying groups.
Andy Jeffrey explains Whilst all the changes within the manufacturing and distribution side of the Crop Protection Industry progress GTBG is set to help growers look at their choices in the procurement of inputs. Our aim is to provide access to a broader choice of products covering the R & D sector, Generic and others. We can help where growers want to either separate their Agronomy and Purchases or wish to work with existing suppliers. It will also appeal to agronomists looking to become independent, providing their grower clients with access to an alternative purchasing route. GTBG will be sourcing products to encompass all of the UK Cropping Sectors
Based in East Anglia – but will be operational nationally, the buying group provides member opportunities and benefits. GTBG aims to provide expert purchasing knowledge and unlike other buying groups will operate only in the Crop Protection Sector.
Crop protection chemical savings being amongst an array of advantages to its members, to include no fixed commitment, no annual or hectarage fees charges are based on annual purchase value and a one off administrative joining fee, one monthly statement and payment GTBG take care of all account administration. Members also benefit from paying the negotiated price with suppliers. GTGB will be working with manufacturers, distributors as well as independent agronomists including AICC on behalf of its grower members. There will also be regular technical and market up-dates.
Being a crop protection specialist combined with the extensive contacts of the group enables GTBG to concentrate on sourcing the best products at the most competitive prices for its members.
