Appeal after horse tack stolen in Stoke burglary

stolensaddle
Police are appealing for information after thousands of pounds worth of horse tack, tools and machinery were stolen during a burglary in Stoke.

Sometime overnight on Wednesday, July 27 into Thursday, July 28, burglars broke into stable blocks and tool sheds at a property in the village.

Among the items stolen was an Equiflex saddle 181, or a Parelli Reiner as it is sometimes called, which is possibly the only one of its kind in the country. It is a dark chocolate colour with a suede seat and distinctive stitching, and a bright orange sheepskin underside. It also has large pine coloured wooden stirrups which are very unusual and specially ordered.

PC Adam Pink, from the Basingstoke Targeted Patrol Team, said: This western style saddle is quite distinctive as its very heavy and hand made. Have you been offered it for sale, or have you seen it advertised? If so, please get in touch.

The offenders would have needed to walk on foot away from this property and would have been carrying the items to a vehicle, so Id also like to hear from anyone who may have seen or heard anything that could help us with our investigation.

Anyone with any information should contact PC Pink at Basingstoke police station on 101, via the website at www.hampshire.police.uk/internet/contact/message_officer.htm or call the Crimestoppers charity anonymously on 0800 555 111. Minicom users should call 01962 875000.
