British pig farmers thank Morrisons
British pig farmers are publicly thanking Morrisons for their continuing support during difficult times for the industry by bringing their Red Tractor Roadshow to fifteen of the retailer’s stores in the next fortnight.
Morrisons’ unique relationship with British pig farmers means it is the only retailer to be included in the roadshow tour of GB towns and cities.
The supermarket’s customers, from Newcastle to Bristol, will have a chance to enjoy freshly cooked, free British bacon and sausage sandwiches when the Red Tractor tasting mobile arrives in store car parks. The tasty snacks are likely to whet customer appetites for more and stores are ready to meet an increased demand for British bacon and sausage.
Morrisons Agriculture Manager Louise Welsh said: “As long term supporters of British pig farmers we are delighted our special relationship with the industry has been acknowledged by this visit from the Red Tractor Roadshow.
“We continue to buy over a million home grown pigs a year and pride ourselves on paying a fair price to our farmers, and within seven days, to help them manage any cash flow issues.
“The Roadshow visit to our stores is a big thank you to our many customers too. They show their support for British pig farmers on a daily basis by continuing to buy our excellent range of British pork and bacon, at a price to suit every budget.”
