Joseph Heler, the UK’s largest independent regional cheese producer, has invested over £750,000 in a state of the art whey processing facility at their Cheshire site. This facility is a highly sophisticated whey plant and allows Joseph Heler to create a new range of advanced and added value nutritional products.

The investment has been made in collaboration with leading dairy nutrition business, Volac , who are the largest customer for Heler’s whey products.

This significant investment will not only create exceptional and sought after products, it will also reduce waste, as the water removed from the whey is used for cleaning in the whey plant, making it almost self sufficient. Above all, this investment ultimately helps add value to the milk produced by Heler’s farmers, bringing positive results all round.

“The strategic long term relationship that has been formed over many years between ourselves and Volac means that we can work together in an innovative and exciting way and ultimately improve efficiency in the supply chain.”
