ADF increases production to satisfy growing demand around the world

A recent surge in orders for ADF’s revolutionary parlour hygiene system has led to the British based company dramatically increasing production at its UK assembly facility.

ADF Milking is the global leader in dairy parlour hygiene. In the last two months ADF has made nine shipments of Automatic, Dipping and Flushing equipment to Australia and New Zealand. With increase in demand from UK farms also, extra production capacity was desperately needed.

James Duke of ADF, said “We’re delighted to be increasing our production and believe it’s a sustainable feature of ADF’s development. ADF is currently experiencing high demand from dairy farms in New Zealand and Australia, a welcome addition to the ever-increasing flow of orders from the UK. With a significant rise in enquiries at this year’s RABDF Dairy Event it could be we have to increase production levels even further in the coming months. We’re proud to be a British company that is creating employment, manufacturing and exporting in the toughest of economic times”.

A new Contract Hire scheme is partly responsible for this latest increase in UK orders. With no deposit required, it makes installing ADF into any dairy parlour more cost effective than ever before. Farmers visiting the ADF stand at the 2011 RABDF Dairy Event were impressed with the fact that savings generated were likely to far outweigh the monthly payments, making the system cash positive from month one.

One farmer visiting 2011 Dairy Event needed no convincing of the benefits of ADF. Bill Higgins from Wilderley Hall Farm near Shrewsbury was awarded the Chris May Memorial Award, for the herd with the highest average lifetime daily yield among qualifying herds. His 245 cows achieved a lifetime daily yield of 18.34kg for the year ending September 2010. Bill and his wife Margaret took on the 80-hectare farm in 1965 and have developed it into a family business with sons Andrew and Bill.

The Higgins family installed ADF on their farm in 2006 and are delighted with the results. “It was great to see so many people showing interest in ADF at the Dairy Event this year. Over the last five years the system has become an essential part of our parlour regime ensuring high hygiene standards are always maintained, freeing up more time for other farm duties. We are delighted with the consistency and timeliness of teat dipping and the knowledge that each cow is receiving a correctly santised set of liners at every milking.”

Farmers using ADF report improvements in herd health, a reduction in workload and significant savings. The company has quickly become the global leader in dairy parlour hygiene, winning numerous prestigious awards around the world.

Most recently this summer it was judged to be the winner of the Equipment of the Year Award at New Zealand’s National Fieldays Agribusiness Exhibition. In 2011 ADF won the Dairy Innovator’s Award at the Australian Dairy Conference, a unique award process which is voted by farmers, for farmers. In 2010, ADF received the RABDF Livestock Machinery and Equipment Award and was awarded the Prince Phillip Award at its first showing back in 2005.

  • ADF can be fitted to almost any make or model of dairy parlour.
  • It replaces the need for manual dipping of each and every teat to reduce mastitis.
  • Each teat cup has dip/spray injected into the liner at exactly the moment milking stops. This makes sure the teat is completely coated before it is exposed to the environment.
  • The cluster is then flushed by a high pressure system, ensuring no bacteria remains to be passed on to the next cow entering the milking stall.
