Antaris Solar, a leading provider of solar PV technology, has announced its co-operation with Wynnstay Group, whose stores offer an extensive range of agricultural products. This will be particularly beneficial for installers of solar photovoltaic systems who serve the agricultural sector. Antaris Solar PV panels are now available through all Wynnstay stores across Wales, the Midlands, the North East, the North West and Yorkshire.

Antaris Solar manufactures high-performance solar PV modules with a 30-year performance warranty and a 12-year product warranty – among the longest warranties in the market. All panels were granted MCS certification by the British Standards Institute (BSI), the UK’s main testing authority. The MCS (Microgeneration Certification Scheme) is designed to evaluate microgeneration products and installers against robust criteria, providing greater protection for consumers. It requires detailed testing of production processes and product performance.

Agricultural buildings, stables and warehouses offer the perfect conditions for the installation of solar PV systems. The electricity generated by the solar PV system is often used locally, e.g. for running agricultural machines or for lighting.

Wynnstay Group plc is Antaris Solar‘s third distribution partner in the UK, together with Burdens Energy and Solar Electricity Systems. Based in Powys, Wales, Wynnstay‘s agriculture division supplies products to professional farmers, while its specialist retail division operates 29 stores across a broad regional area; six in Shropshire, two in Staffordshire, one in Lancashire, one in Worcestershire, one in Herefordshire, one in Gloucestershire, and seventeen throughout North and Mid Wales.

Andrew Moore, Antaris Solar’s Country Manager UK & Ireland, said: „The UK has huge potential for solar PV, particularly in the agricultural sector. We are delighted to be working with Wynnstay in order to drive the expansion of this sustainable technology.“

Charlie Hughes, Wynnstay’s Senior Product Manager, said: “Wynnstay wanted to remove the confusion from the decision making process for our customers by supplying one of the most efficient panels on the market, with one of the longest warranties available. Cheaper panels are available, but a Solar PV system is a 25 year investment which generates income for the investor, and therefore a high quality panel is essential. We feel assured that our customers will get the best return for their investment by choosing a premium quality panel.”

About Wynnstay Group plc (http://www.wynnstay.co.uk)

Wynnstay was founded in 1918 by tenant farmers of the local Wynnstay estate and was formally constituted as a farmers’ co operative shortly afterwards. Over the succeeding decades, the organisation steadily grew. A series of acquisitions has expanded Wynnstay’s trading area to include all of Wales, the North West, Yorkshire and most of the Midlands. Through its history of utilising franchise manufacturers for many of its products, Wynnstay customers are serviced as far afield as Somerset, Sussex and Hampshire.

About the Microgeneration Certification Scheme (MCS)

The MCS is the only certification scheme to cover all microgeneration products and services, and has support from the Department of Energy and Climate Change (DECC), industry and non-governmental groups as a prime method for making a substantial contribution to cutting the UK’s dependency on fossil fuels and carbon dioxide emissions. The Microgeneration Certification Scheme (MCS) is designed to evaluate microgeneration products and installers against robust criteria providing greater protection for consumers. It is an independent scheme that certifies microgeneration products and installers in accordance with consistent standards.

MCS certification is granted by the British Standards Institute (BSI), the UK’s main testing authority, and requires detailed testing of production processes and product performance. For further information, please visit http://www.microgenerationcertification.org.
