Derbyshire’s Tissington Estate has received a welcome grant from the CLA Charitable Trust to help provide disabled toilet facilities at its popular education barn.

Derbyshire’s Tissington Estate has received a welcome grant from the CLA Charitable Trust to help provide disabled toilet facilities at its popular education barn.

The CLA Charitable Trust provides education, recreation and facilities in the countryside for those who are disabled or disadvantaged and particularly for young people. Founded to encourage landowners to provide opportunities for the disabled and disadvantaged on their property, CLA members support the Trust generously – since its inception in 1980, the Trust has awarded more than £1.75 million in grants.

Sir Richard FitzHerbert of Tissington Hall said: “We are very grateful to the CLA Charitable Trust for this grant towards the disabled loos at our Education Barn, which is on a working farm on the Tissington Estate. Over the years we have welcomed hundreds of children from schools near and far, and now they will be able to use the facilities at the Barn, keeping the whole experience completely onsite.

“It is vital that we as land managers introduce and explain rural land practices and farming to all communities and this grant can only help us in contributing to that aim.”
