Walford Students Celebrate Graduation at Harper Adams
Students from Walford and North Shropshire College recently attended the annual Harper Adams graduation ceremony to celebrate the successful completion of their studies as part of a formal partnership between Harper Adams University College and Walford and North Shropshire College
After two years of full-time study at Walford, these new graduates were awarded Foundation Degrees in Animal Science or Equine Science. Throughout the course local employers provided ongoing support by providing invaluable work experience in the relevant sectors. The students will now build on their success by progressing to an honours degree or directly to careers in the animal and equine industries.
Such a high level of achievement highlights the quality of facilities and lecturing at the Walford campus and reflects the positive spirit of collaboration between Walford and Harper Adams, who validate the awards.
The team attending the graduation ceremony from Walford were also delighted to witness the awarding of an honorary doctorate to Dr. Geoffrey Davies OBE, Chair of the Marches Local Enterprise Partnership and Managing Director of Alamo Group Europe Ltd. Harper Adams made the award in recognition of Geoffrey’s leading role in agricultural engineering both in the UK and internationally, as well as for his support for economic development in the Marches area. Amongst his many roles in public life, Dr Davies is a member of the Board of Governors of Walford and North Shropshire College.
