A leading Welsh law firm has been appointed to provide legal services to Wales’ Young Farmers Clubs (YFC).

JCP Solicitors’ specialist Rural Practice team will offer legal advice to the organisation which supports and enhances the opportunities for Wales YFC members living throughout Wales.

JCP Solicitors who have expert knowledge in the areas of agriculture and rural affairs will now support the organisation for the next three years by providing a modern approach and understanding of the current legal issues affecting the rural economy.

The YFC has 160 clubs throughout Wales which are run by the members themselves. The members, aged ten to 26, are offered numerous opportunities through the organisation, including travelling, training and working on community and environmental projects.

Rory Hutchings, Head of the Rural Practice team at JCP Solicitors said: “We are thrilled to have the opportunity to work with Wales YFC and our team couldn’t be more suited to assist with this rural organisation.

“Our team provides an extremely professional approach to rural matters. Having been involved in YFC activities themselves, many of our team have the direct knowledge and understanding of the organisation and its role in the rural community in Wales. We have worked hard to develop a team with rural legal experience that is second to none in the area, and we very much look forward to working alongside Wales YFC.”

The Wales YFC account will benefit from the experience of JCP Solicitors’ Rural Client Manager, Malcolm Thomas. Malcolm is a life member of the Carmarthenshire Federation YFC and was recently awarded an MBE in recognition of his services to the agricultural industry in Wales. Malcolm is also the Royal Agricultural Benevolent Institution (RABI) Trustee for Wales.

Dylan Jones, Wales YFC Chairman, commented:”We are very much looking forward to working with JCP Solicitors in the future. We hope that they will be able to assist and give us professional advice on issues so that we can continue to provide the best opportunities for the young people who are members of Wales YFC.”
