It’s business as usual for SPS 2014
More than half of all SPS applications were made electronically in 2013 and farmers who have not yet made the move online are encouraged to register on the Government Gateway now to access SPS online and check the progress of their 2013 claim and view entitlement statements for previous years.
Justin Chamberlain, the Rural Payments Agency’s Customer Director, said: “As far as SPS 2014 is concerned, it is business as usual for our customers, and farmers can make their applications in the usual way.
“I would encourage anyone who has not yet made the move online to do so in 2014. SPS Online is simple, secure and familiar. The online form follows the same format as the paper version but with extra built in checks to help you get your application right first time.
“You also get an instant receipt which provides immediate peace of mind.”
As more people move to SPS Online there is less demand for centres where paper forms can be dropped into RPA. The Agency currently has no plans for Drop-in Centres to open in 2014.
You can find out more about SPS Online on the RPA website.
The new CAP scheme will be launched in 2015 and RPA will be releasing details to potential claimants later in 2014.
