OMSCo appoints new managing director

Richard Hampton, the Organic Milk Suppliers Co-operative (OMSCo) former chief operating officer, has been appointed as managing director.
Commenting on the announcement, OMSCo’s Chairman Nicholas Saphir said “The Board of OMSCo is pleased to announce the appointment of Richard as Managing Director. Richard has been involved over the last 12 years in successfully developing the original £25 million co-operative to today’s £100 million business. We are delighted that Richard will be responsible for the overall management of the next phase of our exciting development”.
OMSCo is the UK’s main supplier of organic milk with over 200 farmer-owner members and with core customers in the UK, Europe and the USA.
Richard Hampton said “I’m delighted to have the opportunity to be responsible for implementing the milk pool and product development plans for 2015 and beyond.
“While the general organic milk market in the UK is seeing little or no volume growth, OMSCo will continue to support its existing and successful customer base, at the same time as increasing its developments into growth markets and new product areas.
“We’re confident that we’ll need more milk from our members, both this year and well into the future, so I’m very excited to be leading the co-op during this critical period of its development.”
