New sales and livestock manager appointed at Sterling Sires
Cattle genetics supplier Sterling Sires has appointed Simon Gee as sales and livestock manager.
Cattle genetics supplier Sterling Sires has appointed Simon Gee as sales and livestock manager. Mr Gee joins the company from Holstein UK, where he performed a number of roles since 1999, most recently in planning and co-ordinating the inaugural UK Dairy Day event.
This new position at Sterling Sires signals the company’s drive to continue developing a high merit range of dairy and beef breed semen and embryos, according to chairman Paul Westaway. “For all dairy and beef enterprises to be sustainable, they first have to be profitable,” he says. “Helping customers selecting the right genetics for their own farm’s production system and environment are the natural starting point.”
Mr Gee will be responsible for expanding the company’s range of semen and embryos, aligned to the direction of genetic progress being pursued by commercial farmers and pedigree breeders alike. He will also develop the export of livestock genetics to countries where UK bloodlines can help improve productivity, profitability and sustainability.
