South Devon Organic Producers (SDOP) announce the appointment of a new non-executive Chairman.
South Devon Organic Producers (SDOP) announce the appointment of a new non-executive Chairman.
John Walter Symons, the present Chairman, is stepping down and the Board have asked Malcolm Colegate to take over the chairmanship.
John Walter-Symons said ‘Because of the current opportunities in the organic vegetable market, this is an appropriate time for the group to move forward. Overseeing these changes will take more time than I am able to give alongside running my own organic farm. Malcolm is a qualified Crop Agronomist of 30 years experience who has extensive experience of chairing business groups in the area and I am sure his professionalism will benefit the group and their customers in the current environment.’
Malcolm Colegate said ‘John has done a superb job as Chairman for the last 2 years and I am looking forward to carrying on his good work and taking up the challenge of managing the changes and expansion plans for the future.’
Caroline Westacott, the Co-operative Manager of the SDOP, said ‘ I am looking forward to working with Malcolm in the future and we are pleased that we will retain John’s experience as a member of the Board of Directors.’
