Matthew’s dual role involves working with Dr Edward Smith to ensure product compliance with stringent regulatory criteria; as well as with Certis’ marketing and business development manager Robert Lidstone to assist with the company’s marketing activities.

Prior to joining Certis, Matthew spent three years as a laboratory technician at Stockbridge Technology Centre, based in North Yorkshire. Here he trained as a plant pathologist while working in the Plant Clinic and Research Laboratory. Prior to his time at Stockbridge he gained a BSc Honours degree in Applied Biology from the University of Newcastle.

“We are pleased to welcome Matthew to the company,” comments Robert. “He brings a strong scientific background and experience in pesticide registration and crop trials, and has worked within a plant clinic environment, diagnosing crop problems and developing solutions.”

On his new role, Matthew remarks that he is excited to be part of a company involved in the development and marketing of such a broad portfolio of crop protection products. “My aim is to further develop my knowledge of the horticulture sector, support the Certis team and play a part in the growth of the business.”
