Certis appoints new UK Regulatory Affairs Officer
Crop protection firm Certis has appointed Dr Edward Smith to the position of UK Regulatory Affairs Officer.
Edward joins the firm with significant experience in the sector having worked within the CEFAS (Centre for Environment, Fisheries and Aquaculture Science) division of DEFRA as a regulatory scientist for the competent authority for offshore chemicals. Within this role Edward was involved in the evaluation of registration dossiers, provision of regulatory advice and conducted product risk assessments.
Certis welcome Edward to the UK team where he will be responsible for the management of the registration of crop protection products and associated regulatory issues for Certis. Edward will also be responsible for managing trials in support of regulatory submissions, liaising with regulatory partners and managing the maintenance of labels and technical support information.
Dr Smith will be based in Certis Cambridge office. Certis is the leading marketing company for crop protection solutions in speciality crops as well as taking an increasingly significant market share in the UK arable and potato crop protection sectors.
