CLA welcomes new Defra Minister

CLA President William Worsley today (Friday, 16 September 2011) welcomed the appointment of Lord Taylor of Holbeach as the Parliamentary Under Secretary of State at Defra.

Lord Taylor has taken over the portfolio of Lord Henley who has been moved to the Home Office as Minister of State.

Mr Worsley said: Lord Taylor proved himself very able when he held the Defra portfolio in opposition. He is a rural businessman who understands how the countryside works. I have no doubt he will be a huge success as a Defra Minister.

I also wish Lord Henley well in his new role. He has been an outstanding Defra Minister with a true understanding of the countryside.
