CLA appoints new Director General
The CLA today (Tuesday, 26 April 2011) announced the appointment of the former Managing Director of Smiths Medical International as its new Director General.
Martin Jamieson, who has a long and accomplished record in senior management roles, will take up his new position in early May.
CLA President William Worsley said: We are delighted to welcome Martin Jamieson as our new Director General. I feel sure his senior management experience in industry will prove invaluable to the CLA.
Mr Jamieson, who owns a smallholding in Kent, said: The CLA is a great organisation which is vital to ensure the voice of land owners and managers is heard. I look forward to leading its staff through the challenges ahead.
Martin Jamieson was Managing Director of Smiths Medical International from 2003 until August last year, with a total staff of 2,400 and an annual turnover of more than 400million.
Previously he held Managing Director roles at Airway Management and IVF Global, Portex Ltd., and Simcare and HG Wallace Ltd. He has also served as Chairman of the CBIs South East Region, and continues to be Non-Executive Director of Medway Hospital Trust.
