Fresh start for Stanhay with Grimme UK

Grimme UK has been appointed as the sole UK distributor for precision drill manufacturer Stanhay Webb, initially through its own retail outlets based at Swineshead, York, Shrewsbury and Ladybank.

Stanhay Webb Ltd, was successfully purchased out of administration in March 2010 by a team of its former directors and management. The company has also recently completed a move to a new 70,000ft² premises in Grantham and has retained 100% of the previous work force.

Grimme UK has already demonstrated its commitment to the agreement by increasing its stocks of current Stanhay parts by more than 250,000. A corresponding increase in its stocks of new Stanhay machines will guarantee in-season delivery for customers.

This agreement with Stannay Webb is good news for new and existing Grimme customers because we can now offer a total package from seed bed to store for all types of root crops but notably sugar beet, where Grimme has seen a significant increase in machinery sales over the past three years, says Grimme sales director Barry Baker.

Grimme Ladybank will head up the project, with the parts supply coming from the companys Logistic Centre at Swineshead, which will guarantee a next day delivery within the UK.

Stanhay Webb director John Evans says that the new agreement enables his company to work closely with Grimme and to benefit from its expertise in root crop technology and the sales and skilled service support it offers.
