Rotam appoints new Sales and Marketing manager to deliver expanding crop protection portfolio
Agrochemical manufacturer Rotam Europe has appointed Paul Savage as Sales and Marketing manager for its UK, Ireland and Scandinavian business.
With an extensive knowledge of agronomy, and experience of product manufacturing, Paul will take responsibility for bringing a substantial portfolio of new products to market once they have received registration.
Originally an agronomist for 15 years based in North Yorkshire, Paul has spent the last 8 years of his career in sales and marketing for Dow AgroSciences in the UK, working across a range of different agrochemical products.
Having taken up his new role at the beginning of September, and working from the company’s European head office in Peterborough, Paul said that he is excited by Rotam’s potential for offering an increasing number of crop protection solutions to growers as new product mixtures and formulations are developed for the market.
“The company has been very successful in other markets around the world and with Rotam investing in research and development in Europe, I look forward to the challenge of delivering cost effective solutions to growers here in the UK,” he commented.
Rotam opened its UK portfolio of products in 2008 with the launch of Toledo, a 430g/l formulation of tebuconazole, while last year two new sulfonylurea herbicides including Savvy (metsulfuron-methyl), and Ergon (metsulfuron-methyl + thifensulfuron-methyl), were first offered to growers for broad-leaved weed control.
A new glyphosate product (Silvio) followed later in 2009, and a 250g/l version of tebuconazole (Odin) was added to the portfolio earlier this spring. On Paul’s appointment, Rotam’s Technical Services manager James Anderdon said: “The Rotam Europe team will be strengthened significantly by Paul’s experience and knowledge of the industry, particularly in Northern Europe. I look forward to working with him in order to bring our emerging range of products to the market.”
