Hi-Spec Engineering Ltd has appointed Edward Lewis as its new Regional Sales Manager for the complete range of Hi-Spec vertical auger and paddle type diet feeders, vacuum tankers, side and rear discharge spreaders and its newest Product, the Kompactor push-off trailer.

Based in Cheshire, Edward will be responsible for working with Hi-Spec dealers and their customers throughout Wales and the southern half of England. Edward brings to the role a wealth of practical knowledge gained from working in both the livestock breeding and agricultural machinery sales industry, along with key business skills gained from senior management positions that will help him build Hi-Spec market position in the UK and develop new opportunities for the company.

Edward’s appointment also rekindles an association with Hi-Spec going back to his youth. While still at school and then at college, he worked on a 350-cow dairy farm that ran a Hi-Spec Mix-Max 10 diet feeder, and then a Mix-Max 14, plus two 2,000 gallon Hi-Spec slurry tankers.

“Having personally used Hi-Spec machinery and always been impressed by the quality of product, its build strength and overall reliability, it’s great to have the opportunity to now work for the company and to help them take the brand forward,” says Edward.

Edward’s early days in the livestock industry started with him working for Genus PLC, before setting up his own business in 2002 importing agricultural products from New Zealand and selling these on to dealers throughout the UK and Ireland.

In 2008, after selling the company to a competitor, Edward worked initially as an Area Business Manager for a large agricultural company, before moving to be a Business Development Manager for Cogent Breeding. Most recently he has been Group Sales Manager for a large AGCO machinery dealership, which included Hi-Spec as one of its franchises.
