Leicestershire R.A.B.I. committee members Brian and Veronica Sutton hosted a fundraising ploughing match for R.A.B.I. on 12th May nr Market Bosworth, Leics. As the weather has been so poor they were able to use their ground for the competition which saw nearly 80 entries on the day. The event was organised by Mr Richard Hewitt who has vast experience in vintage tractors and ploughing matches and the event, along with a raffle raised £1,100.

Commented on the day’s success were hosts Veronica and Brian Sutton who said ‘We were delighted to have held such a fantastic fundraising event for the Royal Agricultural Benevolent Institution (R.A.B.I. )’. ‘Currently R.A.B.I. are receiving a huge increase in calls from worried members of the farming community and grants have been distributed accordingly’. ‘We are only to help our fellow farmers who are in need, with all the proceeds going towards supporting Leicestershire farming families’. ‘Thanks go to all who came and entered as well as local businesses Startin Tractors, Farols and Chandlers of Lutterworth’.
