HGCA Monitor Farm Launches Super Sausage after proving a success
A HGCA Aberdeenshire Monitor Farm which created its very own Super Sausage to support an annual breakfast campaign is now launching it in their farmshop after it proved so popular with customers - and the label has been designed by a local school child.
George and Andrew Booth of Savock Farm put together the Super Sausage which is made of locally sourced pork, oatmeal and honey for HGCA’s Farmhouse Breakfast Week in January – but it was such a success that they decided to officially stock it in their shop.
Andrew said: “We originally put together the Super Sausage to help children get a filling breakfast – and we organised a special day for local school pupils from Foveran School who loved it as it is packed full of the oats that we grow on farm. It proved so popular we decided it just had to be rolled out and also help parents get their own super start to the day.”
Children from Foveran School in Aberdeen were also invited to design the logo which features the Shake Up Your Wake Up slogan from Farmhouse Breakfast Week. The winning logo was designed by youngster Emma Kirk and was voted the favourite on the farm’s Facebook page.
