At Fruit Logistica 2011 NSF-CMi will be showcasing the latest developments in its market-leading assurance system, Intelligent Assurance.

This new concept takes assurance into the post-certification era building into the site audit a more dynamic risk-based evaluation. This process facilitates an in-depth analysis of the compliance levels, enabling the producer and their clients to understand and calibrate the strength and weaknesses of the food production process.

The key, says David Richardson, Managing Director, is to look at exposures to risk. Why waste equal time on areas that you know are compliant or low risk to the business and customer? The point is surely to focus resource where its needed on the areas of greatest exposure.

Visitors to the NSF-CMi stand at Fruit Logistica will be able to see demos and reports generated by the system as well as have a full explanation of its capabilities.

For example, NSF-CMi manages a proprietary scheme for supply of fresh produce on behalf of a major international retailer. The scheme includes standards for food safety, environment and worker welfare, extends over 78 countries, involving a complex structure of several thousand growers, PMOs and primary suppliers. The Intelligent Assurance service provides statistical reporting, technical input and complaints and issue management, in addition to auditing and reporting, all through a web-enabled real time management system. Self-audit is now an option for many grower groups.
