Cereals 2010 Event closing in
This years Cereals Event at Robert Laws Farm, Nr Royston on 9th and 10th June, is set to deliver over 400 leading suppliers; bringing you the very latest products, advice and information across the arable sector.
Amongst the Highlights for 2010 are:
Crop Plots
Applied science will be a key focus in the Cereals Events trademark crop plots this year. A total of 30 companies will be presenting more than 90 sown crop plots, showcasing new varieties, agrochemical products, rates and timings with access to the countrys leading researchers, plant breeders and technical managers. The HGCA alone will have an incredible 135 varieties growing on their stand!
Sprays & Sprayers
In Syngentas Sprays and Sprayers Arena there will be a vast range of the latest self-propelled, mounted and trailed sprayers being put through their paces. Boom widths range from 24m to 40m, tank capacities up to 6,600 litres and forward speeds close to 50km/hr. Syngenta will also be presenting the ever-popular Farm Sprayer Operator of the Year Award.
Pellets and Pelleting Arena
You can boost your entitlement of 4 BASIS points and 2 NRoSo points, for attending either day of Cereals, by visiting the Metaldehyde Stewardship Group (MSG) at the Pellet and Pelleting Arena and completing a ten point Farm Action Plan to gain 2 extra NRoSo points.
Working Demos and Machinery
With 10ha of working cultivation demonstrations visitors will be able to compare a wide range of new features and upgrades. This years event is alive with new technology, innovations and product launches giving the very latest ideas for greater efficiencies, better results and increased profits.
Renewables
Renewables is a vibrant and growing area of the Cereals Events focused on renewable energy generation and supply opportunities for UK farms. Supported by the National Non-Food Crops Centre (NNFCC) and sponsored by Drax Power, it features a host of highly innovative companies including wind turbine manufacturers, power plant and biomass experts.
Arable Conference
The Oxford Farming Conference (OFC) partners Cereals to bring a summer conference to the industrys flagship technical arable event. The move will see thought-provoking speakers tackle two topics; applied arable science and the Campaign for the Farmed Environment, both issues inextricably linked with the sectors future and its competitiveness.
New Park & Ride
Following feedback from both visitors and exhibitors organisers are taking major steps to combat traffic congestion. This will involve the introduction of a Visitor Park and Ride system with 3 satellite car parks and regular shuttle bus service.
