Renewable Energy Solutions

for farmers and landowners

Energy Now Expo has proved to be an extremely popular event, highlighting the sheer amount of interest in renewable energy that farmers and landowners from all over the country have.

The next event is to be held at the Malvern Showground on 15th & 16th February 2012. There will be a conference to further explore and identify the renewable energy opportunities available to farmers & landowners.

These sessions will be complimented by an exhibition full of suppliers and developers representing every type of renewable energy, all of whom will be on hand to answer queries on any alternative energy related issues.

Why Visit?

Farming is one of the most energy intensive industries in operation today. As these energy costs continue to rise, increasing numbers of farmers are looking for alternative energy sources in order to reduce their bills, as well as their carbon emissions.

The event will:

  • Explain how each of the renewable energy sources work
  • Demonstrate how and why renewable energy offers an excellent diversification opportunity

  • Show how renewable energy can help you save money on power, fuel and heating bills

  • Detail the financial returns offered by initiatives such as the Feed-In Tariff and the Renewable Heat Incentive

  • Outline how farmers and landowners can earn extra income by selling excess power back to the grid

  • Debate about these issues with other farmers and landowners

  • Have access to practical workshops on each energy type

Hear key people from industry speak about all the opportunities available and how to make them work for you.

Description

Established to promote agriculture, horticulture and food production in the counties of Herefordshire, Gloucestershire and Worcestershire, this non-profit making charity now enjoys the respect of breeders and agriculturalists worldwide, boasting a Membership of around 3000, high profile sponsorship and fixed assets of around £1.6 million.

Its permanent Showground home on Malvern's Blackmore Park road was acquired in 1957, and the attractive 68 acre perimeter site extends to 300 acres of land, including the 100 year old Langdale Wood.

Annual activity at the Showground has grown from 3 days in 1958 to more than 200 days in 2006. In addition to organising three major events - Malvern Spring Gardening Show, Three Counties Show and Malvern Autumn Show - the Society hosts a national sheep show, arena concerts, dog shows, fairs and rallies.

The Three Counties Show in June, however, is widely regarded as the Society's flagship event, attracting some of the UK's finest pedigree livestock, competing for prize monies totalling £70,000. It is visited by up to 100,000 visitors - doubling Malvern's population on Show days.

Objectives

"To promote the interest and improvement of agriculture, horticulture and livestock breeding.

To promote British food and farming, and the drawing together of town and country for their mutual benefit."
